A message from Artistic Director Robert A.M. Ross
We are planning our annual 12th Night Concert for January 4, 7 and 8, 2006 (yes, we are looking to expand this offering to three performances beginning this season!) at locations to be announced in next month’s letter. The program is slated to feature some of the timeless arrangements of Christmas carols and other seasonal pieces by Robert Shaw and Alice Parker recorded by the Robert Shaw Chorale in the early 1960swith VNA’s unique sound and spin, of course! We are also looking forward to performing new Christmas card carols by our favorite card-carol composers Abbie Burt Betinis, Brian Holmes, and Lesley Hopwood Meyer (in new arrangements by yours truly). And, perhaps a surprise or twostay tuned. . . |

Chris says of singing in Voces Novae et Antiquae:
Singing with VNA is the musical treat I give myself. I feel renewed and restored singing in a group where there is such a high level of musicianship and commitment to the ensemble concept. Rob is the consummate director (I chose Temple for grad school mainly because of him)an incredible musician who, by welcoming our suggestions and input, gives us true ownership of the group. There is something almost transcendent about being immersed in the VNA sound I surrender a part of myself, only to have it returned to me magnified by union with the other singers. This is the ultimate singing experience!
